Next install your Ball Cage being careful not to let any of the nine pins fall out in the process. The nine pins fit down into the nine bored holes in the Helm Body. I gently tapped this Ball Cage assembly home with a small wooden mallet.

Next load your Cylinder Barrel Assembly with seven Springs and seven Pistons. Arrange the Piston tops in a circle as shown, this circular pattern is important to line up and accommodate the rotational tracking of the nine ball bearings over the tops of the pistons as your wheel is turned. This passing of the ball bearings through the channels machined into the piston tops is what mechanically strokes the piston which in turn hydraulically pumps your steering fluid.

Next install the Wheel Shaft into the Helm Body carefully pushing it through the rubber PolyPack Seal and Wiper. Lubricate them first with steering fluid. If the Key falls out of the Wheel Shaft you can put it back in with a needle nose.

Next install the loaded Cylinder Barrel Assembly over the Wheel Shaft being careful to line up the Key on the Wheel Shaft with the slot in the Cylinder Barrel. Once installed you will be able to press down on the backside of the Cylinder Barrel and feel the seven spring loaded pistons reacting off of the nine ball bearings confirming you are properly assembled.

This is the Valve Body assembly, I did not see a need to tear it down at this time however the internals are detailed on the exploded view. You will need to replace the three O-Rings on the Valve Body assembly with new ones from the kit before installing it back into the Helm Body.

Install the Valve Body Assembly into the back of the Helm Body being careful not to roll or cut the three O-Rings you just replaced, lubricate them with some steering fluid. Align the two being mindful of the two factory stamped "X" timing marks, one on the Valve Body and the other on the Helm Body. These two "X" timing marks do not line up, mine where exactly as depicted on the instruction sheet attached. Positioning these two factory stamped "X" timing marks the same way as you found them before you disassembled the unit assures that you have the helm configured properly. Lining up the internal hydraulic pumps, ports and valves so your unit functions properly pumping the hydraulic steering fluid sequentially through the mechanically timed alignment when turning both port and starboard. Very important you put it back together the same way you took it apart so know your "X" marks! Tighten down with the four bolts and bleed the system.
