I was wondering where most of you are painting your boats.
The local boat yards no longer allow scraping and painting.
Anyone in the Louisville Ky area have any local suggestions?

Wow. That has not made it here yet. Not even if you use a tarp?

Oh it has made it here but NOT for the reasons some may think. (environmental)
We are down to one boat yard that allows owners to work on their boats on the hard. Bottom Painting is still allowed and the yard takes no precautions when they are doing bottom stripping etc.
This yard has changed ownership and it looks like it is a matter of time before they close the yard as well.

CLOSED YARDS MAKE YOU CONTRACT WORK WITH THEM ! It is a closed yard.

My marina does not allow outside vendors come in to do work on your boat unless they:
1. Are insured
2. Sign in and provide a copy of the invoice of work completed.
3. Pay 10% of the invoice to the marina !
Easy money for the marina and naturally that 10% is passed on to us owners.
What a racket!

safe harbors,
