So we took our out on the river Sunday!
After new ..plugs...coils...resistors.... Motors ran great!
No more motors stalling once trannies engaged....perfect.
Cruised up to 18 mile island at around 1800-2000 rpm.
I got warning signals from vhf regarding over voltage. Checked gauges and was seeing
15.5 ish volts on both.
Not sure what is going on ....the only thing done was the stuff mentioned prior....well both vhf radios and antennae are new as of this cruise.

If you have the original Prestolite alternators, the voltage regulator is probably taking a dump.

That's the opposite problem one has with one wire alternators running at that engine speed. I assume you were off plane?

Correct I was not on plane but pretty close.
I also found out that they are the original Prestolite alternators and both volt meters respond to the starboard engine.
I have ordered two volt regs
