Maybe a dumb question?

I've noticed a lot of people say their BigM's like to ride bow high. The bow on our boats sit deep compared to the stern, (especially on a singe 28), bringing the bow high when trying to plan. Some of us don't have the luxury of having trim tabs (or affording them). My question is has anyone ever bent the anode tabs on the back of the hull down a bit? I realize it would cause more drag but how would it be any different from one of those dolfins you put on an outdrive, my old boat had one of those and it helped tremendously.

Joe-

I'm in the same position as you. Trim tabs are $500 - $1,000. Bow rides high and she doesn't like to plane with three or four people on the aft deck. The surface area required to bring the boat to plane is something like 4 square feet ( 2 1' x 2' tabs).

I'll probably bite the bullet and put tabs on her this winter. The winter project list gets longer and longer......
