What should WOT be for my boat?
I'm seeing about 4100 rpm & 25mph. Bottom may not be crystal clean.

25mph at 4100 by GPS?

Dude, I'm envious. What is your prop?

Yes by GPS. Actually touched 26 once in a while but might be up to 1mph current.
Looks like prop is 16x14 - at least spare is.

WOT is 4000 at 33-34 mph. But I have trin 360s on a 28 fisherman

Sounds like it's under propped.

Does it get right up on plane, and at part throttle? If so, an inch or more pitch would deliver more speed and better MPG. If not, you'll have to live with it.

Jeff

PS: My old 32 sedan with 16 x 14 (3 blade props, 1.52:1 reduction) would plane off on one engine and maintain about 15 mph at 3,200 rpms (as I recall). That was with 360s. Hope that helps.

I'm trying to become more familiar with the boat. I'm not used to inboards let alone this unique wide aluminum hull. I guess I don't know if it gets on plane quick or not.

I'm trying get an idea how good or bad the engine is running. Speed is not critical for me but efficiency would be. Is there an spec'd WOT rpm for this boat?

In the past with my Bayliner cruisers it was easy to find the recommended prop spec for the given model, engine & outdrive.

WOT is just fine Most our M's never get near it.
You may want to step up your pitch a couple. Sounds like your are running 9 pitch. 11 will give you approx. 250 less RPMs at WOT but will be more fuel efficient at slower speeds.

safe boating,
dave

Max rpm does not need to exceed 4,500.

A good cruising rpm for singles is about 3,200; for twins 2,500 was best on my 32 footer (for gas mileage).
