....and it's beautiful! Even without messing with the antenna rotator I got a dozen channels, and they are clear as can be.

Glad to hear it. How big is the antenna?

On a related note - I'm headed up this weekend, to see what channels I will get. Anybody around Port Clinton have any luck???

If you are in what is refered to as a "fringe" area now you will be in a no reception area after next week. I have a friend struggling with his "digital" signal in an Ann Arbor suburb and he is not happy at all.

The local station here has gone thru 3 digital transmitters so far and is requesting an extension to figure out what is burning them out.

I have one of those R/V round antenna deals that looks like a radome (and I let people think that). About 75 bucks with the booster package. Works slick.

Our boat is also in a TV fringe area, which is why I was so delighted (stunned!) at the results. I got ABC so poorly it wasn't worth watching (in many ways); now it comes in perfectly. WIll get to watch the Eagles and Ravens games on Monday night. And the NASCAR and other car races will be visible again. Whoopeee!

I bought a 12v converter for the boat, since I already have a tv. It was $0 with the coupon, and I bought a round "flying saucer" antenna as well. I have them with me here in DC and haven't been down to the boat, so I can't report on effectiveness. The antenna has an 8-position switch for "aiming" the antenna, I thought it would work OK at anchor since I always know the bearing to the station (most central florida tv comes from a single antenna farm in Bithlo).

I have HDTV at home so I will not need the other coupon, which expires 6/11. If someone wants it to buy a box, let me know soonest.

That 8 position aiming deal sounds great. Mine just shows that it's going round and around--I have no way of aiming it for, say, the local Fox channel (NASCAR). With the analog TV, you merely kept rotating away 'til the picture was clearest; with the digital, however, it's a channel no show until you're pretty much aimed correctly.

We'll see, but I'm really encouraged by what I've seen so far.

Update from Port Clinton...

I installed 2 new tvs on the boat. Both are Samsung HDTV's.

I'm getting 20-30 digital channels, using a Glomex 14" antenna (shown here):

http://www.cyber-bridge-...ctional-Tv-Antenna.html

I have found this antenna to be much better than Shakespeare's, with a cleaner look. It is "Digital Ready".

I have it mounted on their V bracket, on my radar pole, near the top of my flybridge bimini.

I do need to leave the powered gain control on, between 50-100%, in order to grab the Cleveland stations. Toledo is no problem, and I also grab a few from Detroit.

No issues running 2 tvs off of the 1 antenna. I may add a 3rd tuner, down the road (don't ask).

In case anyone doesn't know the address to get the $40 coupons (limit 2 per household):

https://www.dtv2009.gov/ApplyCoupon.aspx

On a related note - it seems funny, to me, that they wouldn't allow you to use these against new TV purchases (with DTV tuners). They would serve the same purpose and boost the economy too...

I still have a coupon that runs out tomorrow. You don't need the physical coupon, just the number off it, if you order a box online. Anyone want to do that, email me or post in this forum....
