OK, I replaced my points and breakers with an HEI distributor and now the tach gauge means nothing so I was looking at getting on of those electronic versions when a friend mentioned getting a flow meter...dam him and his good ideas. Anyway I have little time to investigate all the various brands and types of flow gauges and am one again falling back on to the wealth of knowledge and expirence on this board.

I have a single 225 hp small block GM engine, two fuel tanks, and would like to keep the needle. Any feed back appreciated.

Got my Flo Scan unit on eBay--cheap (naturally). Worth every penny I paid for it, over and over.

On your tach's disloyalty, there's a terminal onthe coil in that HEI distributor that's dedicated to the tach. Have you tried that'n?

Of course I used the tach connection on the distributor but the manual said some tachs might work, some might not. Mine will not show below 900 rpm or above 2000.

And you are the second I heard from that are happy with the FloScan product. Have my eye on a 9000 series for $400 but am being tempted by a $60 5000 series on one of the lists. Have been waiting on a reply asking if I get the sensor for $60 I think my cheap side will win out, if not the 9000 intergrates with the GPS and gives MPG as well as engine hours and fuel remaining.

I saw a complete Faria flow meter and gage for sale--new--for under $200.
