Tim,

I can tell you how I did it, but it really isn't that interesting... That and the camera hides ALOT of imperfections... But it definately looks better than before...

Shane desreves one hell of a lot of credit, for he's had a tough year.

Jeff

PS: I'll be in the neighborhood this weekend. If you're around, I'd like to come by again. Missed you last time.

It is a '72... It would be cool if we (collectively) could get something together that listed the variances from year to year. If have pondered the idea of writing a Marinette "biography" since I seem to have a plethora of free time on my hands.

Jeff,

I plan to head down here in a little bit. Now that I have the back canvas up, I can work on wiring the Port engine even though it's raining. I will probably stay down until noon or so on Sunday. Service at the marina is spotty at best, but if you want, give me a call (four four three - nine zero seven - two five zero zero).

If the weather is conducive I plan to tackle the port side, and trim on the sides of the cockpit this weekend...

I thought (and was hoping) it was the same vintage as mine...a '69!
Nice job on the outside. I too would like to see a photo/spec compilation or essay of the various year's and models.

So far I've got the engines humming, the bottom re-painted and the waterline to deck painted. (rolled & tipped)
Next year the deck and cabin exterior. Plus remove the vision limiting air conditioner. (No FB) Dumped the generator, it hadn't run in 20 years.
The interior is still mint from the '60's.

Great looking boat.
Marinettes... A great investment for a boat you know is just in need of a little TLC.

Hooked on Marinettes!

Looks very good, tr, but what is it? I thought real Marinettes had OVAL portholes....(you know - like real jeeps have round headlights) Whistle

Shane:

Was over this morning (Sunday) in my dink, but it was so shallow I didn't dare go any closer. (And I thought my area had acres of grass and mud!) Didn't see anyone around the boat so I headed back.

Will be down next weekend and will drive over.

I was there.... I have pics of the progress to prove it.... I probably won't be down next weekend, since I have the little one... That's unless of course I am IN THE WATER by then.... ahhhh.... One can always dream. Hopefully the fact that I didn't get a single number in the power ball with a $5.00 ticket isn't and indicator of my current level of luck...

Jim,

Was by there... Think I saw yours... Are you all of the way over to the right, transom to land? It would have to be... What are the chances of another M there besides you. Yours looks pretty much identicle to mine, minus the FB.
Next you are down that way and want to swing by, just call me on my cell. We need to get Me, You, Jeff, and Bill all together for a meet up. I'd say we have a pretty good density sq/m of Marinettes going.

I plan to be back down there tomorrow evening, all day Thur, and maybe part of the day Fri (Going to help a friend pull his VD 1.90 out of his Silverton 34C).

Thanks all for the good comments... Good to know that it is not me being biased that causes me to think she is really shaping up!!!

IF I am there (may be helping pull a trans on friends boat at Tydings), I will be leaving around 2ish. As always you can reach me on the cell (# is above), or you can hail me as "Color Blind" (old boat's name), since I usually have the VHF on scan whenever I am aboard... Old habits die hard...
