Read in Boat US magazine that the major manufacturers of chart plotter software will upgrade your stuff for free! (My favorite price.) You have to send your card or CD to them, and they will return you a new one with the latest NOAA charts on it. Hallelujah! I'm sick of buoys with the wrong numbers on them.

Thought y'all would like to know it.

Nobeltec and a number of other vendors have had some controversy on software map quality issues. There is a Panbo article on their response. Very good to know.

Jeff: Cmap charges for annual updates. If you are a member of their "club" the updates are cheaper (short term memory issue: it may be "free" with "club" membership)

Does anyone know how to update the maps in our car GPS units? We have 3 different units made by 3 different companies and they are all outdated. Not one of the manufacturers can provide any info on updating the maps. Their response: Buy a new unit.

You can get the manufacturer to sell you an updated CD. The thieves at Garmin want 75 bucks, so I'll be marking up my charts for a while longer.

We have a Raymarine E120 MFD and it uses a Navionics CF card. We would have to buy a new card from WM or Gander Mt. and then trade up.

(US/CANADA PROGRAM Effective 12/21/07)
Purchase any new Navionics Chart from your favorite Navionics Authorized Trade-in Dealer at MSRP and pick-up your hassle-free, pre-paid mailer. Return your old Navionics Chart to Navionics following the instructions on the free return mailer. Navionics sends you a refund check for your trade-in. It's that easy! See Trade-in mailer for complete program details and restrictions.

Purchase a new Navionics Chart from an Authorized Navionics Dealer at MSRP:
Receive a check direct from Navionics for:

$99-$129 MSRP $25.00 cash back

$149 MSRP $50.00 cash back

$199 MSRP $75.00 cash back

$299 MSRP, or greater $100.00 cash back
