Independence, a 418-foot ALUMINUM warship built in Alabama, boasts a top speed in excess of 45 knots, or about 52 mph, and sustained 44 knots for four hours during builder trials that wrapped up this month off the Gulf Coast. "For a ship of this size, it's simply unheard of to sustain that rate of speed for four hours."

Dennis,

Now I don’t wantta see U getting any ideas from this article & start converting the “Surface Interval” into one of these high speed vessels just to beat me & the rest of us guys out to the honey holes during next years Ludington fish tournament. Anxious Although a necessary evil it’s a shame it takes a $220 million vessel to chase down a little more than a $20 thousand fishing boat if that operated by a band of Pirates. Brick wall
What’s wrong in this picture Think

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Hell get Red Green in here!

Let's see...maybe a 56' BigM down the middle and a pair of 28 footers on either side and we have a motorized trimaran at how many million less that General Dynamics?
