That boat looks excellent. Someone took good care of it.
I have to say it sure looks like my old 28' Fisherman. The interior looks the same setup and size.

Mike, I like Riverside,...a friend of my brother has her 32' BigM docked there. She never uses it since she split up w her boyfriend 3-4 yrs ago. Named Pattys Pleasure. Riverside is too far around to be convenient for me though. I will probably dock at Harbour Towne off little Miami this summer.

Max that was back in the 80's when I did that so it's been awhile. I bet that was a welcome improvement. We would spend a day and a half just to go through one lock, get on the way getting everything tightened up and around the bend was another lockBrick wall

At 1st I thought BigM didn't make 26'. Everything I read started at 28' then I saw an add for alum aft decks for 26' 28' etc. if I measure and follow the bow inward on a curve it gets close to 28' but a straight shot it's 26' plus swim platform.

From my expirence I would guess both of you guys have a lot more tounge weight than you should have.
My 26' single engine I/O was way too heavy as well until I moved the axles about 1/3 forward of the transom. Dennis with your engines 4' forward of mine I would think your tounge would be way heavy. I was told the tounge should be 10-15% of the tow weight. Here is an early pic before adjusting her positioning.

There are quite a few MARINETTES back up there. Have friends there but they have searays. Paties is just floating and not used now. Broke loose and banged on the dock for a while and rubbed the paint off and scratched the hull pretty good, fiberglass boat would have holes in it

Perhaps but she trailers great with zero swaying. Anyone have an easy way to weigh the hitch?

I used to tow my 28'. To set the weights up, I used a truck scale at one of the service stations. It could weigh an axle at a time, so I weighed all three axles, then dropped the boat and weighed the two truck axles, not hard since I was going to drop the boat anyway.

After a little math, I moved the trailer axles a few inches to adjust the tongue weight. Not hard, after years of calculating cg in aircraft.

A 4x4 placed between a concrete block and a bathroom scale would divide the weight equally between the scale and the block if the tounge was centered on the 4x4. Proportional weight transfer would apply as the tounge is repositioned. If directly over the block 0 LBS on the scale, if 1/4 the distance to the scale 3/4 the weight would be on the block the rest could be read from the scale. If it breaks the 4x4...well your a little heavy.

I bet I might of been the last person to take a ride on your boat before you pulled the trigger and bought her. I was giving it serious consideration myself. I still have the pictures on my old computer from late last summer I believe. It has a super hull and the interior was nice as well. Enjoy !! I am boating out of Warsaw Ky, so am a weekly victom of Markland's issues so we will be in Cincy twice as much next summer. I bought a different boat a couple of weeks ago but still a big BigM. I hope to see you all on the water.

A little later this winter I would like to see if we could organize a list of local folks and their boat names from the site here so we know who's who when we see one another on the river. Mine is " Liberte 1" as of now but will likely change, not sure what to yet.

Cheers and Happy New Year, only 3 months till boating season Applause .
Jan and Feb are going to be mild. That's from the local weather man and you know they are usually spot on!
Doug, small world...I was looking for awhile and I think I did OK on my low budget.
I'm putting in a fresh water system that was takin out at some point, got a pump, water hose and fittings from Santa.
My brother and I are going to Cumberland when it warms up. He's got a boat salvage yard and I'm getting a water tank out of an old Chris Craft with same set up as my BigM
Boat has no name yet but good idea about the list.
Looking forward to meeting up on the river also.

My 1966 single screw is 32 foot with a Chrysler 440. They made them back then. Tape it and see you will rech 32' about 6 inches into your swim platform.
