Maybe the previous owner had a problem with bed mites, bugs and bad crawley things and its a super sonic silent Big Bad Bug, runner -offer!!! Throw switch # 1, sends out silent signal- if that don't get um, engage switch # 2- Relays are wired to a CYANIDE GAS Canister!! Other relay is wired to a Drop Down Gas Mask like on Planes for the owners Protection. Could Be!!! Sorrydog

Jeff,

I have 2 wiper switchs on the helm but only 1 wiper ,starboard side. No evidence of one ever being on port.
I go down about everyday to try to do a little on her and since its been really cold check on things. Here's what happened today.
Opened the panel and the little red light was on. Right side switch was up , left was in the down position where i had left them. Flipped the right switch up and the damn horn blew for just a second. Will probably unhook it and see what doesn't work ; but not until it warms a bit. I'm going to put this baby to bed for a little bit.

Bet Cha got a home made high water Alarm,tied into the horn for sound!!! Trip one of your Bilge Pump switches and see if horn blows. How many bilge pumps do you have? 2 ???? Used to live up your way and ran that area, Beautiful there. Sorrydog

Carl, You just might be right about what its for. To anwser your question on the bilge pumps; 2 in cabin and 1 in the stern. all automatic and new. Also a spare with clip ons . Can be used in an emergency. Might be overkill but try to be a boy scout.
Love it here on the lake. Wanda is from Hallandale fla, we are both water and boat people.
Your right about it being beautiful . Use to work at ORNL - SPALATION NEUTRON SOURCE . I made my living doing , Computerized Diametric welding , orbital , an the old astro arc. Teach 2 advanced classes on automatic welding at tec. school and one in structural. Use to go down to Mayport and do a little work for them.
Wanda an i get down your way at least twice a year. Will sure stop and give you a holler.

If Bilge pumps are new, may have not gotten wired back into syestem. Came down here on a boat in 79 and never went back. Almost burned down the old Fox Trail-Tale?? Marina Ten Mile Marina back in 1972, Was Welding on a boat for Rolland Prince and Gene Joyce, Local Judges,boating buddies of mine back then. Oil soaked insulatin caught on fire in the rear stateroom, WHERE THE GAS TANK WAS UNDER THE BED!! Looked up saw the flames thru the rear window,Leaped out of the bilge. Grabbed a Fire ext. tossed it into the bedroom and did a Parchute landing fall about 10 ft to the ground--then RAN!!! I SURE WAS GLAD IT DIDN'T BLOW!!!! Call me probabley know some of the same people, Lived at the Oak Ridge Marina from 69-79 Next to Bob Winkell and Jack Case. Come visit anytime. Live in Mandarin in Jax 904-571-1350 PS , going to Mayport Marine in the morning to look at a Diesel driven 34 ft Alum work boat, looking at getting into the Dock Repair Bus. My neighbor builds docks, is booked up 2 years!!!! People here are serious about thier docks!!! Luckydog

OH! You mean a Doc repellent. Already heard you needed a gas mask. Whistle

The horn blew?

Could this timer thingy be to adjust the fog horn cadence?
One pot could adjust the length of time the horn sounds and the other the delay between blasts.

So it's a fixed time, still could be fog horn.

What numbers/letters are printed on the little black chip!?!?!

It may be a 555 timer as mentioned before but it will say 555 on it. Cant make it out in the first photo.

I read somewhere that there is a USCG regulation that requires a bilge pump to be direct wired to the battery????
