Went down to check on my BigM and all slips are iced in. I broke the ice up around the boat. Didn't look too thick. I been keeping a bildge heater in the engine room & cermic heater in the cabin. Started her up and let her warm up. You know I wanted to take her out in 17deg weather. I remember When I grew up on the Rappannock river in Va. the Ice breakers cumming up the river. You could hear them for miles. Well why not clear the marina with a Marinette ice breaker? Seemed like a good idea. Got out about 30 ft from the slip and stopped. Backed her up and went a few more feet. Thicker than I thought! Backed her back in with my tail between my legs. I think I could have done it but afraid of getting ice around props. It least took her out for a short ride. Cold Wayne

A beautiful day on the river. Temperature was about 20*. Charlie's boat is the cream color and Dave Morris's boat is the the white one. My boat was still in the slip. We wanted to try out the ice breaker concept. Ice was about 2" thick at most. Sure did make a lot of noise breaking up. In one pic you can see how nice it can be on the river in winter.

Remember how nice it was last Jan when Cindy and I were down for a ride..............Big difference.
Glad to see someone enjoying it, I may grab a six pack and go set on mine, it's only about a hundred yards from the water.
