Greeting all! I'm new to this sight and am amazed at the great info available. I am thinking about replacing manifolds on our 37 sedan fb with twin 360's. Has anyone used the Hi-Tek stainless manifolds? Will there be a problem with dissimilar metals when using the ss manifolds. The gentleman at HiTek (Alan) claims I would see a sizable horsepower increase as well as an increase in fuel economy, but at 4 to 5 grand for both engines I can buy lots of sets of manifolds, elbows, etc as well as a lot of gas.

I doubt if economy improvements would make up the difference in price, but they sure last a long time.

We would all love to have stainless manifolds and risers but I think they are a luxury in fresh water where you boat.
Cast iron lasts a long time in fresh water. Mine are original and are almost 30 years old and show no signs of corrosion due to water.
When I removed and inspected them I found that the end plate had been scorched from the hot exhaust and was wearing thin.
Save yourself a few thousand and replace with cast iron when necessary.
