While moving stuff around in my workshop today I ran across the old rudders from our 1977 28' express.I don't know what other year/models that these would be the same.I used them for reference to make new ones out of stainless. The shafts as well as the paddles.Anyone need these ? As you can see the shafts are pitted thus the reason for replacement.

Right rudder shaft is bent a little. Probably wont hurt anything.

Good eyes Roger! These are so pitted that unless you built up the shaft they should not be used in a boat again. You would be constantly tightening your stuffing box nuts and replacing your packing! Thus the reason I replaced them.It was in the process of changing out the rudder shaft bearings when I discovered the pitted shafts and decided to replace the rudders. New ones made from all stainless.I used the old ones for the pattern!

With all the pitting, I would want to check isolation of rudder shafts.
