Whistle Got a new problem. I have 2 sets of trim tab wires going to the bridge and only 1 controller with a single set of Red, Yellow, Light blue an Green wires coming off of that. My question is, does both sets of wires coming up to the bridge splice into that single set? Does not appear to hook up that way but I can't find anymore of that harness anywhere. Ran out of time to go and trace the wire back down the tube. any help would be appreciated thanks.Speak to the hand yeah yeah Jeff I already know; your glad you removed your bridge ha ha.

Thanks guys. I'll be back today to do more tracing:d/ . At least with all the tracing of wires I've done last couple of months, I can't think of 1 square inch of my BigM that I have not inspectedPray

Maybe so they can be controlled seperately if you had independent P/S controls?
If you only need them to go up and down together then they can be grouped on a terminal strip.

Each would need a up wire, down wire, ground, and maybe shield?
I have a used set I haven't looked at yet but I better pretty soon, there is soft water falling from the sky!

My boat (the one rewired with zip cord) has two trim tab switches, one on the flybridge and one at the lower station. Could your extra set of wires be for the other station?

When I redid mine, I ran new power and return wires from the trim tab power switch on the eyebrow panel, and ran new wire from each trim tab control switch back to the terminal block on the trim tab pump. This way, the two switch circuits are redundant (always thinking damage control in case I get in a shootout) and it was actually easier to run the two sets of wires independently rather than try to double them up on the lower control switch, or put a terminal block in the middle somewhere.

I could not find 6-wire cable with the right colors, so I made my own up with white wire and put colored shrink tubing at the ends. Soldered eyes. All of the problems I had been having with the "old" unit disappeared with the old wire.

John Eyebrow panel is the set above the lower helm, mounted to the overhead.
Doug not sure I followed them and they disappeared behind a Bulkhead in the bilge. went ahead and hooked up the one set that had the closest reach ( went on the assumption that since they reached easier they were the ones) I'll have to wait until Sat when I have someone els with me to see if they actually work or not. Maybe I should have been clearer, Both sets came up out of the bridge tube. Once we get the demolished cabin cleaned up we'll find out where that second set goes to.Brick wall

I should have said "Marinette Accessory Panel", since that is what it says on the panel. Since it is above the controls, I have always called it an eyebrow panel.

That was the original thought Joel but both stations work fine and this set of wires are still not hooked up. I'm just figuring that, with all the excess wire on that bridge i removed a couple of weeks ago someone possibly rewired and left that set up there.

Then you may have to resort to Plan B: start tugging and pulling and see what moves. Helpers are great for this boring chore.

When I completely rewired my 37 I had about 4 bushel baskets of wire that was not being used at the time. It was so frustrating to try to trace a wire and find it being spliced to another color wire somewhere in the boat. Also the use of a helper is great. Just don't feed him or allow him to drink any beer untill the job is done which was the reason for all of the problems mentioned in the beginning of this post.Whistle Capt Wayne

Telecom installers have what one maker calls a Fox and Hound. Disconect power from everything and hook up the fox to the wire in question and it will radiate a tone throughout the length of that wire that can be picked up by a hound. It makes locating a particular wire in a big bundle easy.
