Got a bit of work ahead! I'd replace all of that verticle cockpit deck wood with 1/8 " aluminum.

What a fine boat, well worth the effort. My 32' is a sedan w/ flybridge, because I wanted twin engines and more interior room, but on those perfect days I miss my 28' Express, with its "outdoor" steering. While I like the flybridge, good for looking down at the bikinis in the go-fast boats, it's not the same as an express. And, the express is better looking....

I almost bought that boat in 1989. Back then, it needed new rudders and packing and had an electrical issue. When the engines were running, it felt like the ignition spark was leaking to the transmission control sticks. Always got shocked when putting it in gear or out. The hull paint still looks good. It was painted with automotive acrylic in 1988. The topsides were not painted at the same time, so I suspect you will see a little difference in the paint finish between the topside and hull. Have a great time with it. I think it was a 1972 model.

I see you need cabin panels. I got a 28' and a 32' project boat. The 28' sedan model had rotten mildewed cabin side panels in the salon. I worked and worked until I had replacement wood panels made out of luan that matched the panels in the kitchen and bath. Then a fella gave me a sign made out of a 1/4" aluminum honeycomb panel. It was light and strong and had an indistructable painted finish on it. I'm investigating this type of product. I want a prefinished sheet. A simple cut and replace solution. The wood panel is too dark anyway.

It's a small world now isn't it. Yes it is a 72. I think it might still have a rudder problem, the steering seems to be somewhat stiff the previous owner said he might have over tighten the packing? I will need to look into this. Do you re-pack this just like the shafts on the drives? I will need to learn how to do this so if you have any input I would be grateful. What were they asking for the boat back in 89?

Nice 32ft. Express, Quite a bit of work to do , but nothing you can't handle. You can get a ton of info from these members all you have to do is ask. Take your time and you will have a Marinette you'll love.

Rob I also live in Florence. Where is she stored and where are you going to dock. Every piece of wood comes off. They are all screwed on. The sides can be ply and paint. Stain the trim and it looks good. I gutted the inside of mine and redid everything,over a winter. They are great boats and command attention on the Ohio.

In 1989, it was 19,000. On the rudders, the rudder shafts were quite corroded, so tightening the packing enough to stop the leakage might have bound the shaft. I am really surprised someone did not fix the rudder shafts by now.

Always liked the 32 Express models. Looks like a comfortable layout.

She needs a little TLC but nothing that cant make her look good as new.

I moved her today from Union to Ludlow just down Rt 8 a private place "Charlie Clare's we kept a few house boats there in years past. I will port her at "LYBC ' Ludlow Bromley this year but if it's to crazy or loud we most likely will move next season. How about yourself?

Hey Rob, What's her name going to be !!!

I just bought a 39 sedan and doing some work on parts I brought home, I am down river 65 miles by Markland dam @ Pier 99 in craigs creek. I have to go back to Wi. to pick up the boat in May as soon as they launch all the boats in front of me in the building. Picking up a trailer for it next Sunday in Tampa while on vacation, hope to see you on the river this summer, will stop by and see if I can catch you and introduce myself when I get up that way.

Us BigM people have to stick together you know !!!

We dock a RIVERSIDE in Dayton. Go to LBYC every other Sunday for the breakfast special if not hungover too muck. Just got my summer contract and it si 595 for my little searay on a trailor and 36 foot for the summer pluss water and electric. 38 foot if you want up river spot which is what I like becouse the currant pushes you against the finger.
