Hee, hee, hee! I plan on launching my little boat today for its first test ride of the year. Gotta wear shorts 'cause it's kinda warm today!

A Moderator speaks:
- By virtue of the power vested in me by the Site Founder, it is hereby decreed that whomever causeth it to snow in Denver after April 15, Tax Day, shall be dealt with most severely. Perhaps, a 5% surcharge.
- Investigation shows adding the "@" sign to certain language in our forum postings may be a punishable offense. They may be called to "go #" (what hasn't been determined).
- Mr Jeff did not harrass. He is merely a poor speller. Clearly, he meant to write Whee, Whee, Whee, an expression of exuberance on contemplating his little boat.

Actually, the Gods of Sarcasm paid me back today when I tried out my little boat. The "hot rod" motor I've worked on since last Fall turned out to be a total slug! Back to the drawing board--garage, actually.

One of the ultimate tests for a relationship is if it--and the people involved--can stand each other's company for an extended, day and night period. I can't think of a profession that tests that more than being truck driving partners!

The "Admiral" and I live together on our little 32 footer for several days at a time, and for (nowhere enough) weeks a month, and this has tested our relationship. (That's why she wants to buy a houseboat, but no way I'm gonna start all over with a new-old boat! I'm too old for that.) So far we have enjoyed the boat so much that neither one has killed the other, but you never know... Stay tuned and watch the nightly news.

Jeff:

You need an old boat that someone like you (best) or me (okay) has already refurbished. The problem with that is there will always be something we want to change.

There was PLENTY wrong with the 38 foot "Coastal Barracuda" she insisted we drive a zillion miles to look at this Spring. Not only did the owner "forget" to pull the drain plug (the lower cabin was a foot deep in water), he also neglected to winterize the raw water cooled engines. He also left the batteries in (no power cord) and, to my surprised, they what's left of the engines turned right over when I, ah, bumped the keys (that he left in the ignition!)

"We're outta here!" was all I said, and got no arguments from her.

So has this relationship "test" resulted in the Admrial wanting her OWN boat?
Can't figure out if you got what you wanted from this "test."

It looked like a Dairy Queen treat starting with B outside today. The waves were really pounding on the shore. Friends from New York called just to twist the knife. dam New Yorkers should be getting it tomorrow.
