Better off joining the Great Lakes Cruising Club. Then buy their cruising guide, it's priceless for the local knowledge it imparts.

I sent money for membership over two years ago ,still waiting for my t shirt for joining.
Sent several e mails to John , He apologized each time and said I would receive it in two weeks.
If he can't make good on a silly shirt ,I will not order anything from his company. I sent him an e mail stating this and got no reply.
The membership check got cashed immediately though!
