I know there is a simple way useing a clear plastic hose but just how to do it escapes me. I know repowerers have a quick trick for precisly checking for riser height issues. If I was to shut off the gen strainer and remove the suction hose and replace it with a clear hose and open the valve would water only rise to the lever of the river out side ??? 466 Bertram FDMY, " Easy Rider " 1984 39 Marinette sedan, " LIBERTY ONE " 440'S 19x22 wheels, 710 HOURS

No, you wouldn't ant to do that! A simpler way--which the Egyptians used to level the ground upon which they built their pyramids--is to let water seek its own height. Put a clear hose on a fitting that goes through the hull, then mark how far up the water is in the hose. Nothing to it! Jeff "...reality is not nearly as lovely as the world of Liberal Land.
