Had a few minutes to kill in the Steak and shake parking lot before my next meeting and wanted to tell everyone interested that it is very likely that I will have this made. Lead time can be as little as 4 to 6 weeks including having the die made. Deciding how much to buy and how to amortize the die is one part of it but another issue is what cut lengths. I want to pole those interested. My boat has at least 2 sections that appear to have come from or been cut down to 12' 3.5", I would guess they were cut from 12'6 " sections. the previous supply of re-poped rub rail was advertised as 9' sections but likely that was for shipping conveinence. Shipping is next I will have to see how long can be shipped via. UPS or see here if people want to drive to pick up so as to have original type lengths. I think the first order will be enough to go all the way around 5-6 boats at least. I done some measuring early this morning on my boat's original moldings and there is no hope for pre drilling as they were somewhat more random then what I had thought as some screw hole spacings were at 12" and others were 12.25" so match drilling from the old molding or intentionally sealing the old holes and just making new doing your own spacing and drilling as you go will be the only options. One other thing is that the clear anodizing is almost a thing of the past and the new outdoor standard for anodizing is the silver matt finish we see on all new aluminum for boats, windows and everything else for thaat matter.
Lets speak up on the cut lengths / shipping issues and then I will ask who's in and that you only make a verbal committment here until it arrives. First come first serve. If we could commit to 8 to 9 boats or more worth the price can come down even more.
Feel free to give me a ring if interested or if you have questions. 812 599 6281 mobile.
