Leave the alternator hooked directly to the existing battery. Then, wire from that battery to the combiner and then to the new battery. Wire from the new battery to the downrigger motors. I don't know what the downriggers draw, but use wire sizes from the ABYC table, or larger. Note that when the alternator is charging, the outriggers will draw from both batteries, because the combiner will be on. Don't forget to wire the return (ground) side of the batteries with the same size wire at least.
