capac deflects downward when bilge goes on? what to do?

I suspect the ground return for the bilge pump is going to the hull instead of ground lug the batteries ground at. Not a big difference, but enough to effect the readings.

took a quick look last weekend wires all head toward stern, may investigate more this weekend to see if i can find ground location,thanks Jeff P,s. whats the difference of grounding at lugs vs. the hull,same surface?

It's subtle, but there is a"conductor path" difference, especially if it's several feet long.
