I used it on my flybridge deck. Good grip, very durable, hard to keep clean. You have to pressure wash it . I just lightly sanded & cleaned it with thinner. Wayne

Hi
BigM I used the DURABAK white textured on the fly bridge and walk around deck. used smooth to accent the rails and hatch areas. Smooth is even a harder surface to keep clean than the textured. always looks dingy. If I had it to over again I would use textured only. Dido on the sanding, wash and thinner wipe down to apply Durabak. Three years and still looks good after a good
scrubbing with spic and span powder and a stiff brush. except for those smooth areasSick grrrrrr.

I used it on my swim platform. Easy on as I only light sand and thinner treat and it has held up great. Used the textured. Only complaint is it has slightly yellowed. I thought I may recoat next year

I used a textured buff color on my swim platform and I like it a lot.
Although it can still be a little slippery when wet. I'm going to add another coat and sprinkle a little non-slip before it dries.

An old hand once told me to use crushed graded walnut shells for non-skid. The stuff is sold for 'sand' blasting soft metals. Once they are sprinkled on the wet paint and it dries, another coat covers them up so they don't look like - well - spilled nut shells.

They work about the same as sand. The advantage is that when you want to renew, they sand right off, unlike real sand.

We used walnut shells to sand blast clean high voltage electrical transformers and feeder lines without de-energizing the line. They worked great, but they also were biodegradable so we didn't have to clean up after.
I would think they would degrade on the surface of the paint and leave pits.

I used the "smmoth" :-)
No need for the textured. It gives any deck shoe a secure footing and dosent hold the extra dirt a textured finish would. Most important is that the fore deck does not get scratched up while handling the anchor.

One problem...if gas left to sit will eat the finish. I'm thinking of overcoating with something else by the fill tubes.
