Tundra, what lake are you on?
Keep in mind guys, when you say a 10 mi tow area what does that mean? 10 mi across entire lake? Tow boats charge from the time the boat leaves the dock until it returns to it's home dock. I have people get mad all the time when they can see where they were trying to go but my closest tow boat is 20 miles away. Sorry, but I can't feasibly have a boat everywhere all the time.
As far as using your insurance for "Emergency Services", how many Tow Boats does your Insurance Company operate? Seriously, my members come first. Everyone thinks that we will run on "cash" calls first because we make no money towing our members. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our members are what keep us in business. They ARE our priority. We may or may not have time to service someone other than a Sea Tow member. Not to mention, if it is a real "Emergency Service" and you have knocked a shaft, rudder, etc out of the boat and you have flooding that is beyond your ability to keep up with who do you want to call? Do you call your insurance company hotline so you can go through the phone tree (remember you have to press 1 for english, or 2 depending on your state) or the local professionals that can immediately get a boat underway to come keep your crew from getting wet?
