There's a thread in another section of the forum wondering how to adapt a 1" prop shaft to accept a prop designed for a 1 1/4" shaft. Here's a summary: -- I have a 76 with twin 360's. The proper size prop is 14/11 cupped. I bought two spares, but learned that they were for 1 1/4 in shafts where i think mine are 1 inch. Is there something I can put on the shaft so these will work, or am i out of luck. Mike on Ohio -- you can buy a nylon spacer to fix that since your shafts are 1 inch. Fastjeff -- you can. I am running one on my boat.don't forget the special step key. They make them in brass to ,but i was told the nylon work better.so that's what I have and its working good. Tim-- They sell them at www.henrysmith.com When at their home page in upper left side click on Products & Services then scroll down to Reducer Bushing. I used a brass sleeve on the 1" shaft on my 28' single. It wasn't a good fit and the prop twisted off. I got a nylon sleeve and it works fine. I got several 1 1/4" props very inexpensively on EBAY. The 1" bore props are very rare nowadays.

Great feedback, Yoop! That's what we need on this site, practical experience that can save others money and grief--especially money! Jeff "...reality is not nearly as lovely as the world of Liberal Land. No wonder so many people want to go there." - Tom Sowell

Proper adapters are available from " deep blue yacht " have bought stainless shafting from them and I saw these on thier site a few days ago. I am needing adapters to go from 1 3/8 shaft up to 1 1/2" bores to find some readily available spare props. the 1 3/8" er's are about extinxt on the used market. 466 Bertram FDMY, " Easy Rider " 1984 39 Marinette sedan, " LIBERTY ONE " 440'S 19x22 wheels, 710 HOURS
