I wish you wouldn't post stuff like this. Makes me feel bad when I look at the (original) faded chalky finish on my boat.

Karl, Roger, & Doug,

Thanks, the stripes are painted on. One hell of a lotta work glad it’s over. Now if it all goes back
together with ease I’ll be one happy Cappy. Pray

Dennis,

I didn’t fool MaMa Nature where do U live ? Think Over here it’s been a sunny balmy 74* U better
take them shades off. Liar Naw I moved it over to a heated pole barn told a bunch of lies how he’d be
catching 30 lb. salmon & had a buddy with the proper gear spray it in imron had a dozen heat lamps on it to aid in the drying probably used up $100 worth of electricity. Liar Now it up to me to find them Damn salmon on Lake MI. for the guy I’d hate for him to think I’m a total BS’er Liar

Norm,
Again very nice job! That "Emron" will last for ever. Something to think about for next time, vinyl.

My 37' had been repainted when I purchased last fall, I just purchased vinyl to replace all the stripes for $150.
Pretty good deal, I thought, considering over spray that might get on someones boat, or waiting till all around me are back in the water. Plus all the work of sanding, masking & over spray I might on my boat.
d'oh! d'oh!

Imron nor any other paint will last forever or even 10 yrs for that matter unless its cleaned and waxed every year.

Don't believe those who say you never need to wax Imron or Awlgrip. Simply not true.

I fell for that and after 6 years my Imron is oxidizing. Its not bad, luckily.

I'm going to use some cleaner/wax on the entire boat this spring.
I did a little bit last year and it looked like is was dipped in glass just like it did immediately after it was painted.

If you don't keep it waxed you will notice the horizontal surfaces will get hazy. Not a good thing considering the price of paint these days.

Just my $0.02

I can't agree with Emron oxidizing. We, Material Service, painted a large dragline line that's close to my house in 90 or 91 & it's just as shiny today as when it was painted.

Did you use the Lab Metal or Watertite fairing compound? How many coats of primer? Sand in between coats? Wipe downs?

Thanks Guy’s

Just got back from the boat beat the snow waiting for the Santa Bunny, “Hoppy Easter to All,” I
took a bridge plate as to see how it matched Applause Pretty darn close just a shade more creamier
hoping in a yr. or so it’ll blend in from weathering Pray

Dennis on the Lab Metal we didn’t use it seems none of the people have ever worked with the
stuff & didn’t want to chance it only one guy agreed to use it but when he said he’d play around
with it I said to myself “NO U Won’t” not at near $70 a qt with hardener. Not talking Brian the painter
used his own fairing that he uses at work than covered it with some green goop than 3 coats of
primer sanding lightly between coats fill here& there. Brian did 97% of the work my job was to stay outta the way & bring him Red Bulls Anxious #1 goforer

Wayne,

not for about a couple of seasons but I should that piece I took to the boat as a match sure
made the rest of the boat look crappy d'oh! First I have to get a tri axle trailer than I have to find
Salmon for them to catch, than I have to get a job to bolster the bank roll back up or go in cahoots
with SorryDog seeing he’s a Demolition expert & raid some of Jeff’s hoarded cash boxes I’ve got
spy satellite photos of Jeff’s diggings Shhh can't let Jeff, nose Shame on you Well I’m bushed need a BUD or 3 after spotting the bottom for 2 days got up to the Primcon primer done will have to finish soon cause the trailering
guy is only giving me a few days notice when he’ll have a opening to trailer the boat over to the
West side of the State. But with 2" of white sunshine & falling it may be delayed awhile d'oh! Pray Come On Spring Pray AnyWho it’s getting on beer 30 some place Applause Thanks again, for the Kudos to All,Applause
