Guy on eBay has 5 gallons of Interlux epoxy barrier coat for sale, cheap . I'm willing to buy it all, pick it up (he's a few miles from my boat) and part it out to the rest of you, but I only want ONE gallon.

Time is fleeting before the auction ends. Speak now or pay a bunch more later!

This is NOT anti-fouling bottom paint: It's epoxy barrier coat that goes on after the etchant and before the anti-fouling bottom paint.

I'd hate to see a deal like this slip by. West Marine sells it for 90 bucks a gallon.

If you go to http://www.yachtpaint.com/usa/ and then to the Paint System Advisor, you can get a lot of the information you need.

When I (actually, the yard) did the etch and barrier coat on my 32', they used 2 gallons for two coats, if memory serves.

The "buy it now" price is $175, that means he'll take even less. It's 5 gallons individually packaged, so dividing it up will be no problem. I only want one. If you take three, we need only one more "volunteer".

Come on, somebody, step up to the bar! The auction is about to end.

i reckon for three gallons, i like the idea of putting an extra coat just for a little extra margin of safety ! or two good thick coats !
can you spray it on ??

.."Can you spray it on?"

You bet. Did my dinkboat that way. You need to use epoxy thinner, though.

Let's see: I'm in for one gallon, you're in for three, that leaves one to go.

Hell-loooo out there! Somebody's gotta take the last gallon! Come on now.

Interlux epoxy barrier coat

I am curious...are you talking about Interprotect 2000E?
https://secure.internati...ht/GB_ISO_I_5000186.htm

Just noticed where it says:
BARE METAL: ...Apply primer within 1 hour of metal preparation. If blasting is not possible (or if more than 2 hours has passed since blasting) sand or grind with coarse emery cloth and apply Viny-Lux® Primewash 353/354 prior to Interprotect 2000E or Interprotect 3000/3001.

Hmmm.

I can assure you, from "lab" tests I did in my garage, that paint will peel right off an aluminum surface that's not etched.

Hey! Still got to peddle one gallon! Somebody take it, okay? Gonna be less than half price.
