Stan,

If I may make a suggestion. Your boat came from the Great Lakes an zebra mussels are abundant
in these waters U might want to flush your water cooling system with a chlorine solution as not
to contaminate the eco system in the waters U plan on putting her in . Plus check out the bottom
carefully for any of these hitchhikers one of these bad boys is like a trillion.

Zebra mussels will attach to almost any hard surface, either natural or manmade. On boats, they
may attach to the hull, motor, or any item immersed in the water. Both large and small boats can
be severely impacted by increased drag caused by thousands of mussels. Small zebra mussels
may get into engine cooling systems, causing overheating and other damage.

Thanks for the info norm,
how long will they live out of water? This boat was pulled and winterized at the end of the06 season
and was on land, same spot in the pics for the entire 07 season. I'll flush the system just so I know
its clean, you think i should put in new thermostats while i still have it out of the water?

Stan,

It probably wouldn’t hurt who knows when they where last replaced. Suggest U also check the
belts & hoses if they look shiny on the vee or have tiny cracks I’d change them & keep a set of
the old ones for spares. On the Zebra mussels life span out of water I’m not sure there may be something on
that on the zebra mussel site
