Roger,

The nylon plate I mounted is on the transom dead center of the keel it’s roughly 8" x18" so I can
mount the senors for the Fish Hawk & the slow troll speed wheel & still have room for one more
toys Whistle The plate isn’t really nylon it’s looks like star-board.. I also had to put a slight bend in the
plate to fit the curvature of the transom not much of a problem with a heat gun I believe I used
the 450* setting kept a little pressure on it till I formed the few degree Vee . The nylon screws &
bolts can be had at Mcmaster-Carr, Home Depot also carries a small selection. The plate was left over
from some other project that’s why I used the plate size & bolt sizes might be a little over killl Eh?

Roger,

Here’s a pic of what the transducer plate looks like that 3M 5200 is hard to work with ran all
over the place even on the floor but I’m sure it’s sealed good Think I’m sure the fish won’t mind a
sloppy caulking job don’t have anymore A/F so I’ll see how the slim & zebra mussels adhere to
the plastic Shame on you

Neat job. You could drill and tap that plate for a stern drain plug--it looks thick enough.

Norm,
Nice job! I'll file the nylon bolts & plate in the memory banks, never know when a need will come up. Great Idea!Applause

Just a suggestion: If you use carriage bolts the finished appearance is a bit better, but more importantly you can tighten the nut on the inside without having someone on the outside holding the head....

Doug,

Good idea on the carnage bolts & nicer appearance but I’m not sure they make a Nylon carriage
bolt Think

Jeff,

Great idea on putting a rear drain plug in there hope I’ll have time before they load the “OTM”
on her cross state road trip having problem with getting load dates coordinated between hauler &
marina Brick wall I believe a 1/2"npt would work the plates 1/2" plus the transom thickness shoulds be plenty

Norm,

Used to specify strongwell products for all-plastic antenna housings. I thought they had carriage bolts but I can't find them. You've got me on this one. http://www.strongwell.co...ed%5Fprod/studs%5Fnuts/

Norm:

You need at least an 1/8 - 3/16 inch thickness for enough threads for an 1/8 inch pipe plug. For a 1/2 inch pipe plug you'd need at least a 1/4 inch thiock material.
