I just wanted to report how my schilling bottom coat paint held out last year after a summer of soaking in lake erie. The paint repelled the under growth and still looks very good. I will need to light sand around the water line and recoat for this spring. In the past I have always used trilux 33 black with the same results. The major difference is I pay $45.00 per gallon at schilling and they mix it right on the spot vs $$$$$ from interlux. The other nice thing is, its a family owned small business whom are active boaters on lake erie.

I'm using Schillings rubber enamel on my top sides. It is a one part designed to bind to the original marinette paint. The primer must be used for all the bare spots. My first set up, a gallon each of primer, thinner and top coat was about $85. I doubled that up since. At these prices who cares? Captainopus2 did his boat with it. They will do a color match. The flybridge is being sent out Monday for a professional application. I will try to do the decks myself unless I can convince the pros to come to the boat.

Is this "Rubber" enamel an alternative to DuroBak? I'm in the market. I WILL call the folks tomorrow and see if they can UPS it. Some paints are considered hazardous and shipping is a killer.
