Spence,

Glad I could help. Guess that the tinkling of me ole bones hanging in the yardarms rang the ships
bell Anxious But myself I prefer the AL. tracks the glide bar can be replaced for easy movement of the
glass plus they’re more durable Pray & with Dennis’s & John, A. idea of cutting down the bottom
lips so one can remove the glass & screens easily without taking the track out. Now if John, A
could come up with a U shaped glide strip to eliminate the rattling glass Pray it would be better than a
cold Brewski on a 90* day WEELLL maybe not quite Think Not talking But I guess it just a personal preference
cause if one was to put in a new set of plastic tracks they’d probably out last the ownership of the
vessel, most Capt. usually turn them around every 7/10 yr Think

Dennis,
Thanks again, for the great how do. I am geeting close to install new Aluminum tracks.

I am a little couious on the cutting of the track for removal of glass and screen.

The 3/16 channel height. Is that the depth from the bottom of the channel to the top edge?
(not including the bottom channel web thickness)

Could you clarify on how you replaced the plastic stops with the foam tape?
(my plastic stops are broke and need replaced)

It also looks like you glazed the fixed window in?

Robert

If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.

Yes but make sure that will work for you.

To prevent it from sliding back, just stick a 1/2" long piece of foam tape into the channel.
No glazing was used on the track glass. Set the tracks on top of CWS or marine silicone to seal them.

Thanks,
Dennis
