Sea Turtle Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. Here's the new 6" stripe I painted just below the gunn'l. It had a double black stripe(tape) I tried new 6" tape but was an expensive failure($45 for 50' role). It wouldn't conform to the compound curve of the hull. So back to big masking job and spray painting. I bought a new gravity spray gun and was very happy with its performance. Notice also the new Sea Turtle graphics.

Nice job Clark. Is that the original swim platform or an add-on? What year is it?

Hi Dennis, it's a 73, as far as I know the swim platform is original. I'm the third owner. The original owner was in Fla. I bought her from a guy in Pascagoula Miss. It has a 360 in it. I've owned her since Mar of 03. I've done a lot of painting on the exterior over the last year. the side walls of the cabin, the window frames, and now the stripe. by the way, you have done a beautiful job on your boat. I admire it every time i click on it.

Clarko,
Could you post another photo or two of the extension on your swim platform? Looks interesting and I would love to see a bit more detail of how it is made and mounted.
Thanks,
John B.

Hi John, the pic of the bracket is upside down( I was kneeling on the swim platform taking the pic upside down) The more I looked at the added platform, the more I realized that it probably wasn't original equipment but was fabricated later. As I type this, the pics are not before me so I hope the hand drawn diagram is readable. The 5/8 rod is welded to the sides and aft end of the platform, the 3 brackets are welded paralell to the centerline of the boat, and bolted to the swim platform with 2 bolts each bracket, there is a 2"x1/4 flat stock welded along the forward edge of the added platform to give it stiffness, the rod stiffens the other 3 sides. When I apply durabac to the decks, I will also durabac the platforms as they are slick when wet. The pics of the stern of Sea Turtle attached to the original post of this thread shows the brackets fairly well so the upside down pic is worthless but I dont know how to delete that pic after posting this . Hope this helps .
