Just a couple of suggestions to the newer Big M owners to this site.

On your water intake strainers (especially you Great Lakes Captains): When I was
taking off the anodes for their yearly cleaning, I looked up inside the stainers & they where almost
plugged up tight with Zebra mussels. I lucked out because I caught them in time before there was any over heating of the engine. My plan is to pop the intake hoses off to make sure they haven’t clogged the lower hose up either. Don’t know how much of a problem they are on the southern lakes or for the eastern coast but boaters on this site should take a look.

On the anodes: I neglected to remove & clean the inner side of them due to the F/B removal & all last off
season. This season I noticed a lower reading on the Capac meter. When cleaned I usually got a
1.1 reading. This year it dropped down to about .87 and I attributed it to the large amount of
iron in the water at my new port of call on Lake Michigan. I hung a magnesium loaf over the side to
bring the reading back up to a respectable reading just under .1. At a later date I’ll post some pictures of the buildup in just two seasons of being in the water on average of 5 months a
season.

I know ole geezers like Jeff do this as a regular seasonal routine. Hey did U newer members know that Jeff was around when the geyser Old Faithful went off the first time?

PS. don't forget to use a S.S. brush

At least I wasn't around when the earth was formed! (Top that one!)

Jeff,

That’ll be easy to topShame on you First off U where around as the creator was sitting around one nice day
sipping from a golden goblet of wine thinking what’s next on his list of things to Oh yes I’ve been
putting off that 7 day chore of creating earth. Looking down at this boot black or back than
sandal tender & said Jeff, hurry with them sandals & what do U think of creating a planet
composed of 7/8s water so there can be a boating Mecca where one day the price of fuel will be
so expensive that only the very wealthy will be able to afford to use those grown men toys Anxious Angel
Jeff, looks up & say d'oh! d'oh well maybe whats a boat??? Eh?

Good point. The cruel irony of boating for the wife and I is, now that we have a nice boa and the time to enjoy it, we can afford to run it.

Yeah. I had a sailboat back when fuel was cheap, what a waste.

So now I walk with a cane (great weapon) and have a power boat, and fuel is $$$$.

I don't see myself going back to careening around on a slippery deck trying to do stuff with sails. I'll just have to find a spot with good margauritas and stay there....

On the other subject, I have one of those Time/Life series books that has a photo of the earth being created. At the back of the frame there is a small face that I am sure is Jeff, albeit a little younger.....

I don't know about that, in my Time/Life book Jeff is listed as the photographer who took the picture....

Just wanted to let you know that the BailOut Money - which is basically our retirement - is being put to good use.

At some point, someone with nothing left to lose is going to take matters into his own hands and resort to violence against these AIG-Holes.

The wealthy are now so out of touch that I am sure it was a big surprise to them that having the company pay $1000 for a hotel room would bring bad publicity. After all, what's $1000 to a guy who takes home millions?

Remember when Newt Gingrich was caught taking a $4M bribe? His excuse was that he "just wanted some financial stability" in his old age. This is a guy who will get $300,000/year in pension plus full health care for self and family, for life. From us.

It doesn't seem as though anything can prevent the market crash, but why do we have to bail out the guys who caused it? Stabilization, indeed.

I plan to vote against every *** who voted for the bailout. Check on your guy: http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/110/states/
