Peter is right - if you are going to be running stuff at the slip you need to add to the charger output. I only run the reefer (5 A) when stored at the dock.
Usually the limit on the size of alternator that can be used is the belt available. At 120 Amps I would want double belts, but one good quality one will likely work.
The Xantrex inverter/charger is wonderful but at nearly 100 cases of beer it is too costly for me just yet.
I use an ancient 15/15 ferroresonant charger that provides a float voltage to the house batteries, about 13.5 V. I use the solar trickle charger, unregulated, to keep up the starting batteries, about 1.5 Amp for each battery when the sun shines. This setup seems to work fine since the engines provide the bulk charge that the batteries need to get every now and then. The batteries are sealed AGM.
