Hi Big friends, I am leaving the Marinette family to join the Silverton family. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help, advice, and ideas over the last 7 years. I will check back from time to time to see what's new in the forum. We sold our 32' Sedan Bridge a couple of weeks ago, and we were going to move into a 39'. However the negotiations with the seller did not go in my favor and we since then have found a nice 34' Silverton Convertible. Wish everyone the best during the next boating season and holidays!! Steve

No reason to leave. John Hall sold his big M years ago and still contributes/ learns from the site.
I hope your new boat gets decent gas mileage, but from what I've seen of them...

I'm STILL waiting for my bailout!

You will get a more stable ride but will use more fuel. Keep an eye out with the older 80s Silvertons. They seemed to have some construction/gel coat issues. The mid to late 90's appear to be of decent design. Always liked their sedan styling.

Hi Steve,
I have two friends with Silvertons. They are much noiser than my 32 and use quite a bit more gas. On the plus side, the interiors are better appointed, have more usable storage, and they ride far better in anything bigger than a very small chop. Good luck w/ your new boat.
If you don't mind my asking, what year was your 32 and what did it sell for. With my having started college this year, I've decided its time for me to get out of boating for a few years.
Thx
Fred

I sold my '84 32' for $19,500. As for the gas we do alot of dock sailing, but if gas stays down we will take advantage of the lower gas prices. I'm sure they go back up and higher than before at some point.
