You can't read that display in sunlight... Check the Nits and radiance level --- Boat Displays generally have a transflective surface and 100 (better to have 1200+ nits ) radiance (damned expensive). Home PC and laptops have 200-400 nits. A NIT is a candela/square meter.

Contrast ratio makes a huge difference as does susceptability to vibration in display cost.

I looked at the new Helmviews I've installed... The NITS are 350. Bit dim for daylight.
