A friend of mine is going to look at a 1985 32 Express Hardtop located on a Lake in GA. I assume it is on Lake Lanier. He found it on Yachtworld.com. Anyone know anything about this boat? Looks good in the photos. He is going to look at the boat with a surveyor on Friday. Any info would be appreciated.

If he gets the boat, his 1987 28' soft top will be for sale. A picture of his boat in on the thread I started under My Boat and it Picture titled Three in a Row. Not very many soft tops out there.

Be careful if you have any dealings with Lanier Marine Liquidators, Inc. there on the lake. I found out that you can't believe a word they say, and have a halfassed good old boy operation. Would never do business with them again or recommend them.
Some one else gave a bad report on PTL yahts there. Talked to them so I remember their name but never had any dealings with them. --Ed

Would love to visit but I'm not going and my friend is flying to Atlanta and back tomorrow. Must be nice to hop on a plane and hookup with a surveyor to look at a second boat. We do have some friends down your way and hope to visit them some time this year. Maybe we can arrange a visit. Love to meet other folks with these wonderful machines. Every one I know or have talked with about these boats are alway glad to trade info and show off there boats.

Max II & I have the same friend, he was sitting in the cabin of my 32 Express Bridge when he got the fever.
The boat is on Lake Allatoona NW of Atlanta.

I know and also had small dealings with Marine Liquidators. You are on the mark. I can list several people who have not heeded that advice.

How much of Lake Lannier is still left? I hear it's being drained by for water supplies.

Lake Lanier is very low due to the water needs of the area and surrounding states as well as the drought in the southeast. A lot of legal battles between the states over rights to the water from several of the southern lakes. Lake Hartwell near Clemson, South Carolina is also very low.

By the way, my friend bought the 32 express hardtop. It was on Lake Altoona.

I will be posting some pictures and info on the 28 softtop express he will have up for sale.

Lanier is about 13 to 15 feet down depending on the day or the politician you are talking too.
