Hello all,

With all the improvements we have made it is time to upgrade our insurance coverage. The amount we require cannot be obtained until we get a survey. I know about www.marinesurvey.org and www.boatus.com/insurance/survey.asp but who would be the best one for our BigM here in Michigan?

Thanks.

Dennis,

but who would be the best one for our BigM here in Michigan?

I’ve had pretty good luck & better than most price wise & yet the Agency is in MI. I’ve insured my boat with Global Marine Insurance Agency, they’re in Traverse City MI. PH# 1-800- 748-6747 & their Under Writer is Old United Casualty Co. In Kansas, when Steve Ford a member on this site let me know about them I was paying near $900 a yr they gave me more coverage for a whole lot less like $536 a yr in the 6 yrs I’ve been with them it’s never increased. If U R interested give me a call U have my # if not PM me & we can get it to U. there’s just to much
coverage hype to type for a one fingered pecker like me. Hey Dude we gotta keep this MI. economy going some how sure don’t look like them politicians in Wash. Give a rats A$$ about us once Big 3 Factory Rats. Anxious

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Doc,

Thanks for the info. Gonna put them on the list.

I was talking to a coworker today and he informed me about his buddy that owns http://www.worldwidemarineins.com/ and they are located 10 minutes from me. Gonna give them a call too.

Posted this at The Hull Truth also.

When I bought my BigM I used Dennis Biel in Harrison Twp. MI. ph 586-463-5526. He is a Licensed Marine Surveyor LLC. He did a great job for me. I learned a lot about the boat, I was with him as survey was done.

Here is an insurance update. I see Norm mentioned I saved him some $$. I just finished getting my insurance for the 1992 34C Silverton I just bought. The rate was only $443 annually. Just before I bought the new boat, I renewed my insurance on my Big M thru the same agent for only $347 annually. Try the following link and ask for Rhonda tell her I referred you.

Dennis: suggest you consider asking your insurance company for surveyors. Using one of theirs gives them little room to complain about results.
