Shes old and a bit worn...but shes mine and I love her.
Dark Green Hull which I love, Tan uppers which I HATE!
I want to repaint keeping the green and changing the tan to a VERY light grey or white
with gold striping. The name is Gold with Maroon edge/border.

Very nice, I like the flybridge canvas. I only have the bimini top. Dark green looks good
and I like white as the other color.

Thanks Guys, The Flybridge on the 37 is HUGE! I have seating now for 7 up there including me and could fit 3-4 more with standing room still available. Visibilty forward is EXCELLENT but to the rear its ehhhh...cant see the corners or swim platform because of the rear bimini... just have to know the size of the boat

Hi Bill. Was your boat for sale up MD way about 3+ years ago? If so, I was pretty interested but found a 39' FBS a good bit closer and easier to get to for a sea trial and fell in love with it so didn't get up to MD. I did look at a local 37' FBS but it was older, in less good condition, and the guy wanted as much as I paid for the newer & nicer 39'. Not a whole lot of difference between a 37' FBS and a 39' FBS - and, as you say, the huge FB is wonderful.

I wanted to ask about the dark hull. I'm gonna paint my hull this winter probably and have been strongly considering the idea of painting it Dark Navy Blue with white trim (essentially reverse the current color scheme below the gunnel). I am really atttracted to boats with dark hulls but I was wondering if you've found that the dark color makes the interior hotter in the summer.

Richard

PS: Tried to attach a photo of Miss Cleo but didn't work - tips will be appreciated but will work on it again when I have more time.

Hi Richard, I bought this one last year in MD off the Chester River....Not sure if it is the same one from 3+ yrs ago but could be. was asking 32,000+ at one point, but I got it fr 16,000 and EVERYTHING worked.

I LOVE the look of the dark hull and will stay with it when I do repaint but since I just bought it last yr and it was already done that way I cant really answer your question. I would imagine that it has to have SOME effect on the temp but Im willing to live with it since I like it so much. I have a single 16,000 btu split system Marine air setup on board and it keeps the boat nice, on the really hot days it could use a little help. I PLAN on adding a 9-10,000 btu setup eventually for the V berth and head areas which should make the whole thing a meat locker!

Looked at the pics in your other thread...NICE BOAT! My understanding is the only diff between yours and mine is 2 feet of cockpit...from the slider forward we are exactly the same. I would LOVE to see any and all pics you have of the boat inside outside bilge everything. always looking for ideas.

Ill send you a PM with my email addy instead of posting them all here if you want.

Putting better insulation in might help with the ac. I used the bubblepak stuff from Lowe's and it helped a great deal.

More keeper photos--it's been a good day!

Now I'll know what to look for when I'm hangin' on the Bohemia again.

The 37 Sedan is my favorite Marinette, by the way.

Jeff

PS: That shoreline behind your boat (last photo) sure looks familiar! Was on the hook near there earilier this week.

I'm surprised that the 37' Sedan came standard with only a single 16000. My 39' Sedan came with a 16000 and a 14000. The guy I bought her from then went crazy and replaced the 14000 with a second 16000 and then added another 7000 dedicated to the V-berth. The boat has the potential to be a furnace and a freezer. I rarely use more than 1 at a time and at night mostly just use the 7K unit. Doug's idea about the bubble wrap for insulation seems pretty good. I've been thinking about using that foil backed foam board for insulation and for ductwork. Anyone have an opinion?

Richard, Mine was built in 1975, I dont think it had air when it was built. I think it was added at some point later. The air system has its own 30 amp shore cord and its own rotary switch for generator or shore power and NOTHING else is on that circuit. The rest of the boat is powered from a single 50 amp shore cord.

Jeff, If you heading up the Bohemia towards 213, thats the first little beach area on the left after Bo Bay Marina (the one with the light house on the stone jetty) I can usually be found there on the weekends rafted with several other boats. Its our favorite swimming spot!

And a darn good spot! We go over there often since it's not too far (gas $$) and is pretty nice--unless the wind is wrong. Love to run the dink boat North of the bridge and go on 'marina tours' with it.

WOW! So you have a 50A and a 30A circuit? I'd bet that somebody upgraded that at some point. My 1984 only has 2 30A circuits - one 30A side is dedicated to the 2 larger AC units - the small 7K btu unit is on the same circuit as the stove (on the other 30A side). I do have to be a bit careful when running the high current stuff on the the "main" 30A side. The other one can also give me problems if I'm trying to run both 16K btu units at the same time. If you look at the specs of the AC units, two 16Kers push the limit of 30A and with inrush current have thrown them. I think the factory original choice of a 16K and a 14K was carefully chosen to not exceed the capacity of a 30A circuit but the guy who replaced the original 14K with a 16K didn't take that into account I guess - I'd prefer to go back but I hate to replace a perfectly good unit.
