Hey guys I just found a loosening solution for dissimilar metals corroded screws, mixture 50% water & 50% vinegar apply ( few times) to the area let it set a while worked great can’t wait to try it the next time I’m up at the boat there’s a few tight screws that been giving me a fit Anxious

I'll have to try that on Merc OB water jacket bolts. Afeter a few decades of use, those little *@$! snap off at the sight of a socket wrench.

I also have a few of those myself haven’t had much success in solving that dilemma. Brick wall Tried alcohol seems to exaggerate the dilemma d'oh! As soon as I discover a resolution to this perplexity I’ll be glad to post it to this & other sites Anxious

I use a white vinegar & water solution all the time to remove surface oxidation from scuba regulators. I doubt Think if this solution would loosen threads as there is no way to flush the loosened oxidation out of the threads and the water would only encourage new oxidation. But to loosen the screw/bolt head it would probally help.

I would really like to be proven wrong so give-er-hell Jeff!
