Glad you asked. It is one of my pet peeves about some online forums. Ours is (sorta) pretty good now. Hijacking (I love this new internet speak) is where someone abruptly changes the subject. Throws us off topic. It is quite understandable and happens kinda naturally, following the way we speak at a friendly bull session. One minute we are talking props and the next about the size of the mermaid's flippers.
For example, one posts a comment or question on, say, what gauge electrical wiring to use when hooking up a whatever. After a few posts, someone says I used a certain wire for my fridge. The next guy writes asking how to repair the fridge. Then someone else says they do it with fishing line...then we are into how to catch a fish...and we soon are a long way from wire gauge. Kinda like the old game of "telephone".
This thread started out talking about cabinetry, then danced into posting pix, then hijacking. The problem hijacking creates is when you come along trying to find info and it is scattered all over hell's half acre. For this band of faithful followers - we have a great party line dialog going here - lots of fun - but for onlookers, they can get thrown off course pretty easily when they are looking for help.
On the other hand.... there's nothing "wrong" with table talk. That is what Marinette friends are for!
