Finally found some of that metallic material. I cut up an iron board cover last year for the forward hatch cover which has worked very well for keeping the heat out. I plan to sew this new stuff on the front salon window covers. The metallic will be between the glass and canvas, facing out.
I found a bolt of it at Joann Fabrics. It was $7.00/yrd. It is very thin with a whitish cloth covering on the backside.

I'm trying to load a picture using my private FTP. I can see the photo but I'm not sure if those outside can see it. Please let me know if the photo is not visible.
Also uploaded the pic using the attach file method.

Karl,

Pic coming over just fine Applause Very interesting sounding material may go to Joanne’s & get a few yards for the side windows as a liner on the newly dyed drapes. To ward of the summer sun awe what’s that will summer ever arrive? Think Hey will it reserve the heat inside the boat.Pray

I'm hoping it will deflect the heat more than anything.
Not sure it would serve as much of an insulator for those cold spring/fall nights. I know our tin cans can get quite cold in hurry.

By the way are both pics showing??

Ok. That's what I figured. Think I removed it.

Thanks.

No just one pic & still one the box also came up but I clicked cancel ? box gone now 1 pic. That what I’m basically looking for alsowas sort of joking on the heat retention my heater is ample to keep the inside at a cozy 65*/ 70* even when it drops down into the mid to high 30s outside & the old bus heater I have that runs off the port eng while underway takes the chill out of the Sal00n while fishing in the wee hours of the Sping & Fall months. Again thanks for the head up on the metallic material been looking for something like that for the side windows for the summer months

I have a friend with a small Sylvan who uses this foam board faced with aluminum I think.
I can tell you from experience that going forward to set or pull and anchor will cook you in minutes.
If you look directly at this stuff you will go blind for minutes.

Keeps the heat out real good!
He cut view ports in it so he can see where he's going but not big enough that the electronics are in sunlight.
Looks like the view ports on the old Sherman Tank's.
