Now that I found out that Ronco holding tanks have a female fitting attached and it's up to me to provide the hose adapter to the head, vents, and pump out so I need to ask....

Can I use the standard barb fittings from Home Depot (meant for fresh water) or will they permiate and leak ordors like some hoses will?
Is there a special hose you need to use for the pump out to avoid the hose colasping on itself when being pumped?
How the hell does one secure a holding tank without putting screws through it?

When I did mine I used 1 1/2 inch pump suction hose from a hose warehouse. 1/3 the price of boaters world hose. been in 4 yrs on no smell coming from hose.My holding tank just sits on plywood behind the fuel tank on express & hoses keep it from moving much. Guess you could build brackets to hold it in place. When I have to squeze my big butt under the rear hatch to grease the rudders I can push the holding tank over to give me more room.

 Joe,

You’ll need a hose with wire coiling so the hose will not collapse when using the typical Vac. System that most marina’s use. If U look in the W/M catalog pg 344 / 345 on what hoses are best suit for specific applications. Not necessary to buy thru them do to their exuberant pricing but a good reference starting point. On the barbed fitting I don’t think there’s any difference in the H/D fittings & say one from the likes of W/M other than the price. Now on the way I held down my new holding tank (under Vee Berth)as not to deface the tank was to use a couple of the nylon hold down straps that can be had at any local store for a couple bucks each, put in 4 eye bolts strategically placed to crisscross the tank & ratchet them snug this method has held well for me the last 4 yrs. AnyWho maybe someone on this site has a better input on the barbed fittings Anxious

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
