Can I use Magnesium race wheels as sacrificial metal around my dock?

I can buy a couple of magnesium race wheels that are bent up for about $100.00. Would these help prevent electrolisis from occuring in my dock? Thinking about submerging a wheel at each corner of the dock. :) As I see it they would be out of sight, out of mind. Just some wheels tied on with line to the bottom of the docks. 37' Sedan Twin Cat 3208s!

They might prevent corrosion of the dock but not your boat. A sacrificial anode must be connected electrically to the metal you are trying to preserve. Peter
