A friend gave me a piece of signboard which was an 1/4" aluminum faced honycomb sandwich materiel. It is already painted white on two sides and very stiff and strong. I am going to use it as a cabin hatch for a small sail boat. I looked around the internet and I think it is made by Plascore. This stuff is nice. It may work for decking, bimini hardtop or cabin/cockpit sides. The 1/4" would make a good skin over the weakened plywood on my project 28'. Thicker stuff could replace the deck.

Here is a PDF on performance http://www.plascore.com/pdf/Plascore_Board.pdf
