Hey guys,

Need some advice. After 5 years on the hard, my boat is going back in the water next week! In getting ready to paint the bottom, I noticed that in the past someone had painted over the sensor. My question is this: can I remove the paint from the sensor? If so, how? Scrape? Wire brush? Thanks!

Good luck! Better plan on buying a probe and meter to check your readings.

When you say probe, do you mean a new sensor? I have a good digital meter. By the way, looking forward to stopping by to meet you at some point. I'm at Bay Boat in Northeast, Md.

Northeast? Used to live there, on Hance's Point Road.

Go to get together sometime. We slip our boat on the upper Elk River.

Removing Capac sensor paint. Tossing up a thought: how about liquid, light duty, paint solvent?

For the group: would that harm the silver/silver chloride coating on the sensor?

Off topic but... There sure are a lot of Marinettes popping up in the area...That's four of us now (I'm on the Elk also, just outside the Canal entrance)
