I have a 28 Express that I bought this year. The next project is a swim platform. Does anyone have ideas of how to do this on the cheep, strong and with a place for a kicker? I am planning on having a welding shop bid on this. Will do it when I pull it this fall.

Any advice would be appreicated.

Thanks

Been done, but expect lots of frustration for the stern is curved AND tapered as well--nothing is square. Marinette Yachts sells a kit--see John's Corner.

DD

I have looked at your boat many time and have gone so far as to save your sight on my favorates. That is pretty good sence I have been accussed of looking at boat porn on the computer by my kids. My 28 express does not have a swim platform to add to as you did. When I showed pictures to my welder he said would be a lot of time and $. We are looking at diamond plate, what do you think.

My boat seems solid and I hope to make several upgrades, my want list just keep growing.

Thanks

John

John,

That boat porn really . (cracks me up)
I have some photos of a BigM 28' Sportsman that had a swim platform made using the diamond plate.
I'll look for the picture at home tomorrow. In the meantime...here is another option on a 32'.

I love the walkthroughs on the 32 but especally the 28. Do you think that would take a lot of extra bracing in the transom? That would be really nice as we age.

I appreicate all the help.
