On the trip up to the cardboard boat race the port motor started to drop down then back up to the point that I had to back her down. This started after running at 3000 rpm for a while. At 2 to 25 she ran fine. both motors draw off the same tank. New fuel pump last year and the filter and seperator are fine, new ones and same thing. HELP

Have you checked the small (thumb -size) filter where the fuel line plugs into the carburetor?

I had almost the same problem with my 318's it wound up being the pick up in the distributor It would sound like it was running out of fuel, only did this after warm up. The new pickup cured the problem I had a spare so it was no problem to see if that was the issue. I now have the same problem with the other motor I will change the pick up and reluctor to see if this will cure the problem.
