I was wondering if anyone knows the size of the hose that goes on the san juan strainers. I have located a 1 1/4" buck alonquin strainer with the domed top online for a little bit over 118.00 plus shipping. I really just need a gasket but my plex top also has a small crack in it. I also noticed that buck alonquin has a domed top kit on their website. Does anyone know if this would fit on the old flat plexiglass top strainers ?

I bought the Buck Alonquin domed top last year and had to grind down the top a little with my sander to fit in the strainer. Be careful to do it evenly and not take off too much.

You could also get some lexan, cut a new flat top with a band saw, finish it off with a drum sander and drill a hole in the center with a drill press.

Best,

I purchased the domed top kit from deepblueyachtsupply. I also spoke with a representative of Buck alonquin and they stated the same info that rocket said. It will work on the older plexiglass top strainers but may need to be sanded (depending on age of the strainer)

I got tired of running all over looking for gaskets that fit various applications. I bought some pink gasket sheet material from the plumbing department at a hardware store. I also have 1/16" adhesive backed neoprene and 1/8" neoprene. You also need a compass with a white lead pencel to make circles. The key thing is some sharp surgical scissors with curved blades. Take it slow and easy and you can cut almost any gasket. For mounting equipment a good leather punch comes in handy to make screw holes. Stay away from the cheap Chinese knockoffs.
